Calcium Carbonate Cultured Marble

One of the largest applications for calcium carbonate fillers is in the manufacture of synthetic or as the industry prefers to call it cultured marble.
Calcium carbonate cultured marble. Cultured marble is a polymer composite product made with calcium carbonate and polyester resin which is well suited for bathroom applications. Marblemite is a calcium carbonate filler specifically designed for use in cultured marble. Cast polymers cultured marble marble elite alpha mea calcium carbonate. It comes ready to use with the proper combination of coarse and fine particles.
Casting cultured marble involves how much of the additive you want to use. Ground calcium carbonate is the primary ingredient in cultured marble applications. Cultured marble is polymer resin mixed with marble dust or other whitening agent such as calcium carbonate. If you re casting a figure with fine detail too much additive will prevent the resin from filling all the small voids in the mold.
The mixture is cast in a mold coated with specially formulated gel to produce a tough durable and lustrous surface. The grinding process is controlled to create a distribution of particles that is most beneficial for cultured marble production. Calcium carbonate fillers have minimal effect on the curing properties of the filled systems.
